Mexican Coin Collecting Guide

Mexican Coin Collecting Guide

For anyone interested in Mexican Peso gold coins and Mexican coin collecting, IT is important for the coin collector to know as much as he can about the Mexican peso gold coin. The more an individual knows about Mexican coin collecting, the more prepared he will be when it comes to purchase Mexican Peso gold coins and other Mexican coins available. When it comes to Mexican coin collecting, of particular importance is one’s ability to identify Mexican peso gold coins. This will ensure he is actually getting genuine coins to add to his growing coin collection.

Mexican peso coins first became available in the early 1920s and were created to celebrate the independence of Mexico. This particular coin is called a Centenario. Mexican peso gold coins are made of 37.5 g of gold which is part of an alloy of 10% copper / 90% gold. Like other gold coins, the copper is added to Mexican peso coins so that the coin is much longer lasting and more durable.

For Mexican coin collecting, Mexican peso gold coins are definitely the most popular items among avid coin collectors. Slightly larger than the American eagle gold coins, these Mexico peso gold coins depict the winged goddess of victory holding up a laurel wreath and holding chains in the opposing hand. The goddess depiction stands in front of two volcanoes, the Iztacchautl and Popcatepetl volcanoes located in Mexico.

Also depicted with the Winged Victory goddess is the actual dates that Mexico gained its independence from Spain: 1821. The latter date appears on the right-hand side of the Winged Victory goddess, and a second date appears on the left hand side of the goddess which indicates the date the coin was created. The words “50 PESOS” appears to the right of the goddess depiction, and the words “37.5 Gr. ORO PURO” appear to the left of the same image.

On the flip side of the coin, Mexican coin collecting aficionados will find an image that looks striking to an American eagle but is actually an image of the Mexican coat of arms. The eagle is actually snatching a snake in the image, and it is positioned above a cactus. The latter depiction of the Mexican Gold eagle is believed to symbolize the domination of good over evil. The words “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS” appear in a semi circle above the Mexican gold eagle. The latter words, when translated come to mean “United States of Mexico,” which signifies the fact that Mexico is a constitutional republic/federal nation. Besides the most popular Mexican 50 Peso gold coins, you can also add Mexico coins with smaller denominations to your collection, including Mexico 20 Peso Gold Coin, Mexico 20 Peso Gold Coin, Mexico 5 Peso Gold Coin, Mexico 2.5 Peso Gold Coin and Mexico 2 Peso Gold Coin.

To learn more about Mexican coin, I recommend you checking out Mexican Coin for Sale. It is a Specialized Mexican Gold Coins site, offering a great selection of Mexican Gold Coins for sale. The Mexican Peasant Blouse and Dress Makes a Come Back!

The Mexican Peasant Blouse and Dress Makes a Come Back!

Long live the 60′s and 70′s and the free and easy clothing…

Day of the Dead. Carnivale. Cinco de Mayo. All of these are normal days to don your festive Mexican Embroidered Peasant Blouses and Dresses. But what about just everyday? These work for the everyday, out and about, just relaxing days as well. Mexican embroidered peasant blouses and dresses are all cotton…some are cotton broadcloth, some are the heavier woven cotton, but all are cotton and meticulously hand embroidered with flowers, birds, flower baskets etc. Each design is unique and up to whoever makes them. I could never make something like this…never could embroider. But these ladies sit in their circles in the village of Oaxaca or Puebla and visit while they stitch.

I also love the dresses for the little girls. Some have hand embroidered lady bugs, butterflies or birds and almost all, womens or girls, have crocheted edges. There’s nothing like a hand made article of clothing to make you feel festive. I like them because they are the coolest thing yet for the summer. Pull IT over your head and your good to go. The colors are almost as varied as the stitching (and there is no machine stitching on these)…bright pinks, turquoises, greens, oranges, yellows, white, black…..the list goes on.

Simple, easy to wash…I turn them inside out, drop them in a lingerie bag and just toss them in the washer. The cotton broadcloth ones go straight into the dryer afterwards. The woven cotton ones, shake them out and line dry then out you go….the most comfortable article of clothing you will ever own.

Trina Strong is the owner of One of a Kind Things, an online store dedicated to hand made Native American gifts. She also deals in Mexican hand embroidered dresses and for women and girls, Fair-Trade items, and her own watercolors of the southwest. Her store is an online store at www.oneofakindthings.com

Mexican Salsa Recipes

If you like a spicy food and want to make the Mexican salsa recipe in your home, then you need to some tips about this recipe. Here you can get the information about best homemade Mexican salsa recipe. There are dozens of different Mexican salsas, but almost all fall into one of three categories: raw salsa, cooked salsa made with fresh ingredients and dried pepper salsa. The beauty of salsa is its adaptability and versatility. At its most basic, salsa contains chopped or pureed tomatoes, chilies, onions, and cilantro, flavored with salt and a squeeze of lime juice. But you can make Mexican salsa with many different combination of fruits and vegetables, chilies and herbs. Never includes vinegar in Mexican Salsa.

Homemade authentic Mexican salsa recipe

Ingredients: ½ medium onion lightly cut, 3 medium tomatoes, ½ capsicum- cut thinly, 3 serrano chilies – cut red chili powder (optional),salt/pepper – to taste, 2 table spoon oil

Method

Take a pot, add 2 tsp oil and add the, capsicum, cut onion and the Serrano chilies. Cook for 1-2 mints, but not son that they become soggy. Then add the cut tomato, some salt and red chili powder and mix everything together. Remove from fire flame and let the mixture cool a little. Finally pulse all together in a mini-grinder or food processor for 2 mints. Do not add water. Make sure that the salsa remains chunky, and do not blend IT into a paste.

How to Find a Mexican Food Store

How to Find a Mexican Food Store

Finding a Mexican food store in your local area may not always be convenient or easy. Depending on the area, you may find an abundance of these cultural grocers or you may be required to search other avenues for your needs. However, finding the appropriate storefront for your needs will improve your cooking and dining experience.

Here are a few steps to get you to the Mexican food store of your choice!

A. Know your needs. Knowing what you are looking for beforehand will go a long way in insuring you get the most out of your shopping experience. Instead of making two or more trips, you will make the one you do take count. In addition, you will save time, money, and maybe even gas!

B. Get the phone directory. If you are looking for a good Mexican food store, you can often find one in the local yellow page or phone directory. These can be found in a variety of locations from grocers to a Specialized market. Keep looking if you get lost, the work is well worth the effort.

C. Use the internet. There are many reasons why the internet is an important step. You can find a Mexican food store online if you happen to not have one in your local area, but you can also get ideas of stock in your local area thanks to local websites. Some grocers will allow you to place an order and either you retrieve or you can often have the groceries delivered.

D. Plan other stops on your trip to save extra money. Why not make your drive count? Maybe visit other stores or even the beauty shop while you go shopping for grocers. You will save money on gas alone. Of course, this will also give you more of a reason to do other shopping you would enjoy more such as window shopping.

E. Do not shop hungry. One of the worse things to do is shop while you are hungry. If you choose to do your shopping an hour after you eat, you will insure you do not fall victim to “opportunity shopping”. Many marketers will actually strategically place groceries or snacks knowing some people still shop while hungry. Also, waiting an hour will insure you do not have to use the restroom while you are out.

F. Only get what is on your list. Making a list is a great idea because you are not blindly shopping. Make the list, and make sure you stick to the list. You will also want to take a pen to mark off the items you already get. If you happen to stick to a shopping list, you will find you get just what you need without all the goodies that can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle.

When IT comes to finding and benefiting from a Mexican food store, you have a lot of tools on your side. Take your time and you will find that you get all you need while insuring more of your money stays in your pocket.
