Marillion – Hard as Love (Brave Tour ’94 – Mexico City)

August 10th, 2010 10 comments

Well I hear that you were looking out to hunt me down And I guess you’re used to having everything you want But you know that love can be as hard as sticks and stones I tell you nothing else can be as hard as love can Well I hear you got my number and you want my name I’m a stream of naught and crosses in your RAM But you know that love can be as hard as algebra Baby nothing else has ever been as hard as love Hard as love Well I hear that you were lookin’ out to take me home And I hear that you can handle IT and you’re not scared Have you heard about the pictures on my bedroom wall? Baby nothing else has ever been as hard as love Hard as love Well it makes you hungry and it makes you high It makes you suffer and it makes you cry But it’s all worthwhile It makes you humble and it makes you crawl It makes you tremble and it makes you fall But it’s all worthwhile It makes you desperate and it makes you dream It makes you dangerous and it makes you scream But it’s all worthwhile Just lie back and smile “We will continue to love you even though the rest of the world hates you.” It makes you hungry and it makes you high It makes you suffer and it makes you cry It makes you panic and it makes you vain It makes you primitive and sick inside It makes you angry and it makes you blind It makes you guilty and it makes you lie Tied up and beaten Spat out and eaten Suicidal Nothing’s ever been as hard Well I hear that were lookin’ out to change my faith You can bash me with your book

Do you remember chalk hearts melting on a playground wall Do you remember dawn escapes from moon washed college hall s Do you remember the cherry blossom in the market square Do you remember I thought it was confetti in our hair By the way didn’t I break your heart? Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart So sorry, I never meant to break your heart But you broke mine Kayleigh is it too late to say I’m sorry? And Kayleigh could we get it together again? I just can’t go on pretending that it came to a natural end Kayleigh, oh I never thought I’d miss you And Kayleigh I thought that we’d always be friends We said our love would last forever So how did it come to this bitter end? Do you remember barefoot on the lawn with shooting stars Do you remember loving on the floor in Belsize Park Do you remember dancing in stilettos in the snow Do you remember you never understood I had to go By the way, didn’t I break your heart Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart So sorry, I never meant to break your heart But you broke mine Kayleigh I just wanna say I’m sorry But Kayleigh I’m too scared to pick up the phone To hear you’ve found another lover to patch up our broken home Kayleigh I’m still trying to write that love song Kayleigh it’s more important to me now you’re gone Maybe it will prove that we were right Or ever prove that I was wrong

Matt Darey – Nocturnal DJ Tour Mexico City & LA USA to a soundtrack of tracks that rocked the tour. Produced by Jarret Standard. www.myspace.com

As a little remembrance of a great 2008, we thought IT would be fun to post up the final encore of the tour Tuesday night in Mexico City. The guys were in fine form as they picked some songs they rarely play but wanted to that particular night. It capped off a rollicking show in the storied Auditorio Nacional, and was a fitting end to a year that we will all remember as one of the best REM tours ever.

‘Temporary beaches’ thrill Mexico City residents

August 10th, 2010 25 comments

Easter time in Mexico is a time for families to head to the beach, but not everyone can afford to do that. In Mexico City, the capital’s administrators have tackled that issue by constructing temporary beaches, brightening the Easter holiday for over 36000 people. John Holman takes a look.

A man scrawling graffiti inside a downtown Mexico City subway station pulled out a gun and began shooting when confronted by police on Friday, killing at least two people and wounding five before being shot and subdued by officers.

www.docubloggers.org Nestled among lush green forests in Central Texas, the International Festival-Institute at Round Top has been operating for nearly 40 years. Their 200 plus acre campus has been a training ground for some of the world’s most gifted musicians, and has been host to beautiful performances framed by the glory of Texas’ natural wonders. Beyond music, Festival Hill is just a great place to explore. They have award-winning gardens, historic buildings, and old-world craftsmanship on display.
