pine Furniture turning orange – help?
I bought a computer desk and TV with a few years ago. Its made of pine wood natural wax was slightly (unpainted). Its beginning to change the horrible orange and I want to bring life. Can someone please give some hints on what to do. I google, but the instructions are very clear. I understand that can be sanded, or perhaps the use of lime (what this means – probably does not mean that the use of lime juice yes)? What is easiest way and the most effective way to get my pine furniture look more natural. Once again, I would appreciate instructions step by step. More unfinished natural wood change color over time and exposure to ultraviolet light and air, usually darker and darker, which in the case of pine, you can say that IT turned orange. You said that was slightly waxed and had no varnish, which means is even less protection of these factors would be if it had a lacquer or polyurethane finish. The image gives the performance of pine that was stained and may disappear over time. Is direct sunlight? I fear that if you try to sand, through the point at which will be blotchy and uneven, which would be worse, probably. Most of the failures of the old wax wax when applied. Buy good furniture paste wax. I like Butcher's Bowling wax as non-yellowing, easy to use whether it was more waxes difficult than others, and can be found at Ace Hardware in my area. Search the can with orange on white background in the paint department. If the wax is clearly that does not help, you may have to get a wax stain. I know they sell in stores or online Woodcraft. Once again, the wax does not offer much protection, either moisture or discoloration. You can also try thoroughly cleaning the wax and get some cans of spray paint or water (not oil) polyurethane.
